Corn Products International's Brazilian Subsidiary Increases Equity Ownership to 50 Percent in Getec Joint Venture

WESTCHESTER, Ill., Sept. 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Corn Products International, Inc. (NYSE: CPO) announced today that its wholly owned subsidiary, Corn Products Brasil - Ingredientes Industriais Ltda., and SPI Brasil Participacoes Ltda., a unit of Associated British Foods plc (ABF: L), have both increased their ownership to 50 percent from 20 percent in Getec Guanabara Quimica Industrial S.A., or Getec.

Getec is a major Brazilian producer of polyols, including liquid sorbitol and mannitol, and anhydrous dextrose, for the personal care, food, candy and confectionary, and pharmaceutical markets.
